He sits on the board of Tech for America (T4A.org), an organization committed to redefining the public/private sector relationship, and is a member of the Seattle Symphony board of directors. From 2014 to 2015, Bayan also sat on the board of SMS/800, which oversees policy, administration, and routing for toll-free numbers in North America on behalf of the FCC.
