Mark Straton's keynote starts with numbers: The market revenues were down 21% in 2009, while SEN revenues were down 14%. He says Quarterly revenues were up 25% in Q3 2009, and still growing some 6% Q/Q. And he claimed U.S. revenues were up 445% in 2009.OpenScape licenses grew 21% from their 07-08 Fiscal year to the 08-09 FY.

He cites the title of a book, "Wired for Speech," noting that people's brains are hardwired for language and distinction of sounds.

The Siemens keynote is high on the splashy special effects factor--fog machine, lasers, 3D PPTs and glasses. It's pretty wild.

He brings on Eve Aretakis, exec VP of SEN's voice and apps business unit. "We've been very focused on building a resilient SIP server that can scale to a very large capacity," she says.
