Gores-Siemens Counsel Joins Nortel Case

It isn't clear what to make of this, but a law firm representing the Gores Group and Siemens Enterprise Networks today filed a motion in the Nortel bankruptcy case. Last week the Wall Street Journal reported that Gores/Siemens was one company, along with Avaya, that had expressed an interest in acquiring Nortel's enterprise division.The motion seeks to have attorney Eric J. Fromme of the firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP, of Irvine, CA, admitted pro hac vice to take part in the case. Pro hac vice is the legal term used when an attorney applies to participate in a case in a jurisdiction where that attorney is not already admitted to practice.

I spoke with Mr. Fromme about the filing, and he said he couldn't comment. I have a call in to the Gores Group to see if they can shed any light.
